What is a Brightening Peel

One question we’ve sen come up a number of times during our facials is What is a Brightening peel?

A brightening peel is a type of facial treatment that uses a combination of acids, enzymes, and other active ingredients to exfoliate the skin and improve its texture, tone, and radiance.

The primary goal of a brightening peel is to help reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation, dark spots, and uneven skin tone. This type of peel is typically formulated with ingredients such as glycolic acid, lactic acid, and salicylic acid, which are known to help dissolve the outermost layer of dead skin cells and stimulate cell turnover.

During a brightening peel, a trained esthetician or dermatologist will apply the peel solution to the face and leave it on for a specific period of time, depending on the strength of the peel and the client’s skin type and sensitivity. After the peel is removed, the skin may appear red or slightly irritated, but this should subside within a few hours.

It’s important to note that while a brightening peel can help improve the overall appearance of the skin, it may not be suitable for everyone. People with sensitive skin or certain skin conditions may experience adverse reactions, so it’s essential to consult with a skincare professional before undergoing any type of chemical peel or facial treatment.
